BEFORE YOUR TATTOO

Remember to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water on the day of your tattoo appointment as well as the day before. Hydrated skin tends to heal better, while dehydrated skin may not hold ink as effectively. This is an essential aspect to keep in mind.

It is advisable to avoid drinking alcohol or engaging in any excessive partying the night before and on the day of your appointment. Alcohol can thin the blood and interfere with the tattooing process, potentially leading to an unsatisfactory experience for both parties. Being hungover while undergoing a tattoo session can also exacerbate discomfort, so it's best to steer clear.

Ensure that you have a meal before your tattoo session, and consider bringing snacks and water with you to keep your energy levels up throughout the process.

Please be aware that we are unable to tattoo over sunburned skin, acne, cuts, or scrapes, as this can impair proper healing. If you encounter any of these issues, please inform me promptly to reschedule your appointment accordingly.

Furthermore, tattooing is not possible if  you are pregnant, taking SOME blood-thinning medications, or undergoing cancer treatment. Kindly bear this in mind when planning your tattoo session.

For safety reasons, children are not permitted in the tattoo booth while tattoos are being created. It is both a legal requirement and a measure to protect the well-being of your child. Please make appropriate childcare arrangements prior to your appointment.

AFTER YOUR TATTOO

It is crucial to understand that a tattoo is essentially a wound, and proper healing is of utmost importance. Following the aftercare instructions diligently is essential. Here's what you need to know:

First and foremost, it's crucial to remember that your friends may not have the best advice when it comes to healing tattoos. Avoid listening to their suggestions as they may not be knowledgeable in this area.

After getting your tattoo, leave the bandage on for a minimum of 2 hours before gently removing it. If the bandage sticks to your skin, saturate it with water until it naturally falls off. Avoid forcibly ripping off the bandage, as this can damage the skin and hinder the healing process.

To clean your fresh tattoo, use warm, soapy water for about 30-45 seconds. We recommend using original Dial soap. Gently massage the soap into the skin until all blood and plasma have been washed away. After rinsing, carefully dry the area using a clean paper towel.

Several products available in the market aid in the healing process. We recommend using After Ink or Redemption. Lubriderm Unscented Hand Lotion is also suitable. Take a small amount of the chosen product and rub it into the entire tattooed area. Remember not to apply an excessive amount, as over-saturation can interfere with proper healing. Allow your tattoo to "breathe" by avoiding excessive application.

Use another clean paper towel to gently tap away any excess product. The product that has already absorbed into the skin is adequate; you don't need to apply more.

Repeat the cleaning and moisturizing routine 3-5 times daily for a duration of 2 weeks. However, please note that everyone's skin heals differently. Your tattoo may heal within a week or two, or it may take longer, possibly up to a month. After around a week, you may notice a scab forming. Refrain from picking or scratching at the scab, as doing so can pull color out of your tattoo. It's important to avoid this temptation.

By following these instructions, you can promote proper healing and ensure the longevity and vibrancy of the tattoo.
